S answer, the website Movie-Censorship.com has.Note that the CGI for some scenes was changed, the general 'tint' of the movie went from bluish/greenish to orange, some of the audio was changed, some voiceovers (like the Puppet Master's) were redone by a different actor, and some minor scenes were cut.In my opinion, the remastered 2.0 version is very inferior to the original.
Yes, the CGI in the original was clumsy, but everything else was superior, including using 2D animations for Kusanagi's action scenes. And seriously, how can anyone think the CGI chopper is superior to the original, beautifully painted 2D chopper is beyond me:(Just take a look. It has been awhile since I have posted on here but I wanted to get a real opinion from you guys on this subject.As any uber-Ghost in the shell fan knows this movie only came out in america with the japanese language and english subs. There is no english Dub on it, BUT In England they got the English dubbed version with the ACTUAL cast of the TV Series, that does S.A.C. Here.I know I could buy a multi-regional dvd player and then buy the movie, but that seems like a little bit of overkill.and a waste of money.So what am I getting at? Well I have seen petitions before on here and they are about, 'hey bring this show back and make more episodes!' Which rarely happens, family guy is the only show I know that happened with. And nothing ever happend with those petitions since production and developing a new series causes you to spend a lot of money.However with GITS:2 they already have an english dubbed version of the movie, (with the correct voice actors) so the only cost is in putting it to dvd and labeling it for sale.
I know dreamworks released it here in the states(God knows Why ) But I don't know who did the release in England.So my true question is:Is it possible to get enough fire underneath dreamworks from the fans that it would be beneficial to them to release it here?I personally have never seen GITS:2 Innocence because I refuse to give dreamworks any money since they majorly mucked this up. I have been sitting on this idea for quite some time, let me know if you guys think it could be possible and/or if you think it is just a wasted effort.

It's not terrible or anything, but it feels very lacking in the sentimental value that grows on you from the characters. The dialogue and narration are such crucial elements to the film, that I'm sorry to say I wasted my money buying the R4 version. While it does sport a very good DTS Japanese track, the English track wasn't worth it. Not to mention the major grain and pixelation from the PAL conversion.
I'm just going to wait and see if they eventually release this on Blu-ray.Dargonxtc. Second the initial releases all had screwed up subtitles that included descriptions of the sound effects for the hearing impaired incurring massive recalls and a disc exchange program through their website. Lastly, the release was basically 'bare bones' little extra material, unimaginative cover art, cheap packaging with spindels that broke easily, no inserts, etc.

Not sure if Manga fixed it on later re-releases or not. Personally I found that after the first few minutes or so, I stopped noticing all the extraneous captions for the hard of hearing stuff so I wasn't too bothered by it.Tony K. As Moomintroll mentioned, the UK did make a dub for it, but I bought the R4 Australian version because it was easier to find on eBay than the R2 UK, and R4 versions are normally mirror copies of R2 UKs anyway.Innocence sounds just like the TV series.

Is that Dreamworks Released GitS2, then a GitS2 Music video anthology, then a special edition GitS2 Music video collection. They are definately penny pinching and they are trying to get as much money as possible from consumers, but had they from the beginning released an english dubbed version they would be in the green on this one not the red.Hell maybe it is a good thing that they took a (I can only assume) economical loss on this and maybe now they will keep their noses out of the anime community.
