Unraid License Crack
Posted : admin On 04.02.2020Maybe make it so you can't registrer it, since it hasno usb GUID, and it does have a 250GB harddrive size limit, and up to 4 drives? (P+Q+data1+cache)There has never been a 250GB limit actually implemented for the Trial license (although it was discussed) and the drive limit with 6.2 is 6 drives and not 4. Since you cannot actually start the array without a license key, and you need a USB GUID for that I do not see how this suggestion could be made to work. However I would not mind being proven wrong. Since it only is for testing purposes, but then add a 250GB limit, or something else. So people dont abuse it.Of couse LT can make a iso file for the full version of unraid, but then they dont have a USB GUID, and nothing to tie the license key too. Then I hope it would be possible to get a iso file for testing/trail use only, since not all virtualization software support usb passthrough as well as KVM in unRAID does.Like, if you use FreeNAS and are looking to switch, but want to try out unRAID first. How are you going to do that? You need a seperate computer to test unRAID, which is a bummer. An iso file just for testing out the full OS before switching would be perfect, or for testing out betas.

So people dont abuse it. Unfortunately, if you remove the licensing, and add a 250GB limit, it becomes a ripe target to crack.

I don't see how it would benefit limetech to spend a bunch of time implementing something that would greatly increase the risk of unlicensed use for a limited upside of easier testing. If you can't successfully run a trial USB, you can't run the full version anyway, so why bother?
